UnR welcomes anyone serious about improving their craft, with the discipline, vulnerability and exposure to critique that it involves.

 

UnR seeks to be a welcoming space for expression, exchange and collaboration among peers. Our aim is to nurture writing that elevates the collective conscience while having fun in the process.  

Application

The application process includes:

 

1. Submitting an application here by 11:59 PM on Monday, 13 May 2019.

2. Shortlisted applicants must attend a 20-minute interview with the workshop facilitators on either 18 or 19 May (Location: TBC).

Financial Assistance

Thanks to our partners and supporters, UnR is happy to offer the following financial assistance to participants:

1. Inclusivity Scholarships: Scholarships for participants who might otherwise be unable to afford the full programme fee. A mix of full and partial scholarships are available. People with backgrounds in (self-identified) less represented communities are highly encouraged to apply.  

2. Scholarships for Refugees: Up to three full scholarships, courtesy of the Consortium on Forced Migration, Displacement, and Higher Education.

3. Documenter Scholarship: One full scholarship for a participant who will assume the side role of resident documenter, helping mainly with photography, social media management and light writing tasks that tell the story of UnR5.

4. Emerging Playwright Scholarship: One full scholarship for an emerging playwright (no age limit). The scholarship recipient will enrol in the playwriting workshop during Phase 2.

5. Tiered Fees: For students and the unemployed, reduced fees of up to 50% are available.

6. Phased Payment Plan:  Arrangements can be made to pay the fees in smaller monthly instalments.
